Marelich Mechanical expanded a 22,000-square-foot central utility plant for El Camino Hospital, providing energy-efficient systems for the hospital’s new and existing facilities.
We removed and replaced all equipment while maintaining service, and without interruption to the hospital’s construction activities or ongoing operations.
The client was undertaking a construction project including a five-story, 450,000-square-foot facility, expanded emergency department, conference center, and a complete central plant upgrade.
They needed to renovate and expand their existing central plant to provide new energy-efficient equipment for existing buildings and their new hospital.
In addition to planning and executing removal, sequencing, tie-in, and replacement of old equipment with new energy-efficient equipment and associated piping systems, Marelich Mechanical installed:

- Flue gas economizers
- Two 1,000-ton chillers
